Self-discipline
is the right and obligation we have to live as an individual according to Eleanor
Roosevelt, “remember always that you not only have the right to be an
individual, you have an obligation to be one.” I
never knew I could ever grew and stand firmly facing my actual challenges and
at the same time winning them. However, the situations in our society today
call for self-discipline in order for us to be wholly as independent body, and
have our own destiny control by ourselves
.According to Elbert Hubbard, “self-discipline is the ability
to do what you should, when you should do it, whether you feel like or not.”
Self-discipline is not just the key to reaching health, wealth or achievement
goals, but also life goals. Today, Self-discipline can be defined as a hidden
treasure buried within—and if found and activated opens all doors and makes
everything else possible.”
With the quality of self-discipline you can rise as far and
fast as your talents and intelligent will take you. Every great success in life
are manage or sustained by long period of focused effort on a single goal, and
the ability to set the most important goals and hold strong and steady to it
until it is achieved can be as a result of determination, dedication and
self-discipline. Throughout history, it’s found that 96% of those who had made
it to the top, engaged in a long unappreciated (charity) hours, months and even
years of disciplined works, in a particular direction. The successful people
are those that work higher tasks, for the sake of discipline and the
unsuccessful people are those that do not.
Without self-discipline, a person
with every blessing of knowledge, genetics will be unable to rise above
mediocre. However, many people have remained unsuccessful because of
indiscipline. People seek the easy way out in every situation. In order for you
to be successfully enrolled to the program “self-discipline,” you must wave off
yourself all “quickness” of life. It is true that people often seek an easy way
of doing things. However, all-time shortcuts are never a solution to success or
achievement. It is good to take the difficult tasks, and make unpleasant
decisions, as it all stress self-discipline.
