How to develop habit of reading

The important of reading can never be over-emphasized. However, reading sometimes tends to be boring, but by reading everyday and by choosing the right book that interests you... you will develop the habit. The key to making reading a habit is selecting the books that appeals to you. Select books that makes you curious, that fascinate you and appeal to your personality, is the only reason you will continue reading and not putting the book down.



               DEVELOPING THE HABIT



Once you have the book, plan it through the end. Decide how many pages you are going to read in a day. Set a minimum limit like five or ten pages. If the book is good, you will definitely be reading more and before you know it, you will be making reading your hobby.

According to psychology, for a period of 21 consecutive days, if you repeat doing something on a regular basis it will become your habit. So, for you to develop the habit of reading try reading consecutively for 21 days following the rules below:

Rule 1: 10 minutes of reading everyday for the next 7 days

You have to be super committed for these ten minutes of reading everyday rule. You will start liking reading daily and onward you will be more to read, and that will increase your reading habit.


Rule 2: 20 minutes reading for the next 7 days

I know you will think it is very simple but it might be difficult for you because you will think this can be done very fast and read more than 20 minutes. For you to cultivate the habit you have to be discipline and not fail the rule.

Rule 3: 30 minutes for the next 7 days

Now that you have entered into the last moment of the 21 days and you are on the edge, either you will leave or you will choose not to give up. Continue and read daily for the next 7days for 30 minutes. However, developing reading habit needs consistency, sincerity and even self-discipline.
